Marissa Cox has been dancing most of her life and grew up dancing in a competition studio setting in Worcester, Massachusetts. She furthered her dance education at Goucher College in Towson, MD where she earned her Bachelors degree in dance with concentrations in choreography and dance therapy in 2016. She is trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and modern dance with focus on Graham and Horton techniques. Her choreography was commended and chosen to represent Goucher College at the American College Dance Association’s 2016 mid-atlantic conference where it was performed and adjudicated alongside numerous talented professionals in the field. She had the incredible opportunity to travel to Edinburgh, Scotland where she performed at the Fringe arts festival. She has also danced and performed with the Goucher Repertory Dance Ensemble as well as Goucher College’s Dance team and musical theater group, Pizzazz, throughout her time at the school. She is currently continuing her education in Speech Pathology while dancing as much as she can. This will be Marissa’s third year teaching at Dance Dimensions where she focuses on lyrical and contemporary dance and is looking forward to a great year.
